A scientist named Dr. Meirschultz is working on experiments to bring the dead to life. His assistant Don Maxwell kills the professor, then takes his place, impersonating the doctor and completely losing his mind in the process, becoming a... MANIAC! This is a pre-code horror film made in 1934 by exploitation director Dwain Esper. It was taken on the road as part of a traveling exploitation road-show, often shown alongside freak shows.

Sir Cecil Creape Historical Marker Ceremony

Nashville TV horror movie host Sir Cecil Creape (Russ McCown) of the 1970s and 80s gets a permanent historical marker erected in his honor in Nashville, TN!The ceremony took place on Saturday, July 13th and the marker is located in front of Russ' former house in Nashville, located at 3710 Richland Ave, Nashville, TN 37205. The marker was sponsored by current TV horror movie host Dr. Gangrene (Larry Underwood) who was inspired by Sir Cecil.Speaking at the ceremony were Jessica Reeves of the Metro Historical Commission, Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell, Council Member Gadd, and Dr. Gangrene.

Dr. Gangrene, Physician of Fright, is played by producer/actor Larry W. Underwood. He has been hosting movies as Dr. Gangrene in the Mid-South area since 1999. His current show is Dr. Gangrene's Cinetarium. The show originates from Nashville, TN and airs Saturday Nights at 9pm central on NECAT Arts CH9 (Comcast). It is also simulcast on the NECAT Roku channel (search for Necat).Dr. Gangrene has won numerous awards and accolades over the years including several regional Emmy nominations, 8 Rondo Awards, and induction into the Horror Host Hall of Fame and the Rondo Award Monster Kid Hall of Fame. In addition he has received national and local broadcast and print coverage, being spotlighted in such places as Spike TV, USA Today, Rue Morgue Magazine, The Saturday Evening Post, and even an appearance in the Dick Tracy comic strip.The Doc continues to stay busy in the classic horror field as a published author in addition to producing a weekly TV show.
